Our culture is our heritage. Masquerade Festival (Ikeji) of Ndikelionwu (2018 edition)

Just in as the annual masquerade festival of Ndikelionwu Orumba North Local Government Area, normally called Ikeji Festival has commence today being 16th March, 2018.

According to an interview with the ìgwè of the town, Prof. Chukwuemeka Ike, a king with a difference, a man of substance and unquestionable character, he said that the reason of the annual festival is to help preserve our culture because a community without culture is dead.

While speaking, our correspondant who is also a native of the community revealed to us that this year's festival will be unique compare to other years. It was also disclosed that this amiable community started its annual festival from  ancient days but people are scared to come out in mass to watch and entertain themselves due to the fear of being beating by masquerade. Because  of this, the ìgwè of the community has set out a day for people to come, watch and entertain themselves assuring a peaceful environment.

It was also gathered by kanusblog.com that the set apart day officially started last year being 2017 which was a success.

To crown it all, I will use this medium to invite you people to this year's edition of Ikeji festival which has started today but the set apart day will hold on 18th March, 2018.

Venue :Central School Ndikelionwu
Time: 12:00 pm
